Daughter of the Hive (Part 1)

Janet was a normal woman with a normal job who was walking down the street with a cup of coffee when the Stinger Bots hit. She was minding her own business when she heard some cries of shock and pain before one of the little triangular things flew in, stung her in the neck and flew off to find more targets. She cried out in pain, crushed her coffee cup reflexively and watched as more of the little machines flew by in search of new targets. Now that she had been injected they had no interest in her, but the nanomachines that they had introduced into her bloodstream began their work.
