Helmet Evolution: The First Central Civilization

A continuation of Helmet Evolution

The First Central Civilization (CC1), also known as the Second Civilization (C2) was a remnant of the First Civilization. Several cities along the western foothills of the eastern mountain range managed to resist sacking and were burdened by refugees and were bolstered by displaced peoples fleeing the chariot mounted warriors of the emerging First Western Civilization. Eventually these surviving kingdoms formed into a protective alliance against incursion. This alliance was eventually worked into the religions of the member states.

CC1 became more militarized in nature than the first civilization. The construction of pyramids ceased and instead efforts were diverted into arming and training soldiers and building extensive fortifications for cities. Each state maintained a public armory and encouraged all men and women to be proficient in weapons. In particular they valued archery, though other weapons like the spear and the sword were also honored. Though the individual kingdoms of this alliance fought with each other frequently, they would put down their rivalries and join forces against any incursion by northern barbarians or the factions of the First Western Civilization. In it's last two centuries it began to slowly nibble at the territory of the First Western Civilization. However these victories were short lived, for soon after the fall of the First Western Civilization the First Central Civilization was overrun by the armies of the newly emerged Second Western Civilization.
