Transistional Arquebus

A matchlock Arquebus from some time in the 1400s when the basic shape of lock, stock and barrel was just coming together out of earlier handgonnes. It has a basic serpentine mechanism. Its heavy and short range, even when compared to latter matchlocks, but it more wieldy than older handgonnes. It's stock is made of two bits of wood held together by nails, screws and glue.

Also, for no particular reason, I decided that his owner was Jewish. Jewish soldiers were a fairly rare occurrence in the middle ages admittedly, but it still happened every now and again. It has an inscription which means "Sling of the Lord" in hebrew on the barrel.
